Terms of Use

Surrogate.com is happy to provide this forum space for intended parents, surrogates and all others interested in surrogacy to connect with each other, share their stories, and learn from those who have actually been through the process.
By using Surrogate.com’s forum, users acknowledge that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement. If you do not agree to this agreement, you should not use our forum. We reserve the right to monitor the forum at any time.

In order to provide the most successful experience for users, anyone who uses this forum agrees to the following guidelines:

1. No spam, advertising or self-promotion.

Surrogate.com defines spam as any unsolicited advertisements for goods, services and/or other websites, or posts with little or completely unrelated content to our forum topics. Users agree not to spam the forums with links to their sites or products or try to self-promote their website, business or forums, etc. This includes sending private messages to a large number of different users.

Soliciting for surrogacy matches is acceptable, but advertisements must be posted in the appropriate “Advertisements” subforum. Use common sense with information that you provide in your matching advertisements; refrain from posting personal information (such as addresses and phone numbers) to the public forum. Exchange any personal information in private messages with the user who has requested it.

2. No unlawful, offensive or inaccurate comments.

By participating in this forum, users agree not to post any material which is known to be: unlawful, false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, libelous, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, racially offensive, invasive of a person’s privacy or otherwise objectionable material or any kind or nature.

3. No posting of copyrighted material.

Copyrighted material shall not be posted unless owned by the poster or the poster has been given permission by the owner and gives due credit to the copyright owner by including the copyright information in the post.

4. No cross-posting/duplication of questions.

Users should refrain from posting the same questions in different subforums. They should also use the search function to avoid posting the same question that has been previously asked. Duplicate questions will be deleted, or a moderator will close down the post with a link to the existing question-and-answer post.

5. No private-messaging to users asking for help.

This forum exists to help those interested in surrogacy learn more about the process. By design, the forum was created to answer your questions. Post them in the forum, and never private message a user without asking for permission first.

6. No unhelpful descriptions or post names.

Be descriptive when you are creating a new thread. Don’t use attention-getting subjects (“Help,” “URGENT,” etc.). Use descriptive titles such as, “Searching for a surrogate in MA” or “How can I talk to my husband about surrogacy?”

7. Maintain only one account at once.

All users should only have one account on Surrogate.com’s forum. If you are banned, you should not create a new account. Any user who repeatedly breaks this rule will have their IP address blocked.

8. Be respectful of other forum members always.

Be professional and courteous in your postings. Users have every right to disagree and explain their perspective, but attacking, degrading, insulting or otherwise belittling other members of the forum will not be tolerated. Users engaging in this behavior will be banned.

Our moderators will review all posts and responses to ensure they meet these terms of use before they are published to the site. If a user is found to have violated these terms, their post will not be approved, and they will be subject to banning from Surrogate.com’s forum.

Surrogate.com does not assume any legal or financial responsibility for contacts that may occur as a result of the messages posted on this forum. All liability for contacts made and any subsequent relationships remain solely with the individuals who post the messages and/or those who respond to them. As a user, you post and respond to messages on the forum at your own risk.
